◼️朝から新宿にいる。ぷらぷら、ぷらぷら。大久保通りも近いこの場所は、今や日本人よりも外人さんの方が多いのだね。ぷらぷら、ぷらぷら。昔のことを思い出す。そういえば小学生の頃、四谷3丁目に友達がいて明治通りを（渋谷方面から）自転車で走ってきた私（今でいう新宿南口界隈ね）とその友達はよく伊勢丹前あたりで待ち合わせし、新宿御苑の森や花園神社の境内、大久保通り方面なんかで遊んだなー。あの角を曲がると十円たこ焼き（駄菓子屋ですね）があって、2丁目方面に行くと「番外地」なんて書いてあった。新宿駅前にだってその頃は民家があって冬になると焚き火（落ち葉焚きですね）の煙がもくもくといい匂いをさせていた。記憶ってのは覚えている限り割とリアルなもので、そういう風景と今もこの眺めが重なり合って浮かんだりするものだ。それにしても変わったな。ほんと泥道（未舗装路ね）と畑と原っぱばかりだったのに。電話だって全ての家にあったわけではない時代、ぼくらは過去を起想し現代を走る。そんなことがちょっと気持ちいい きょうの眺め .

◾️I’ve been in Shinjuku since morning. hanging out. There are more foreigners than Japanese in this place near Okubo-dori. hanging out. Reminds me of the old days. Come to think of it, when I was in elementary school, I had a friend in Yotsuya 3-chome, and we rode along Meiji-dori (from Shibuya) by bicycle (now the Shinjuku south exit area). I played in the forest, the precincts of Hanazono Shrine, and Okubo Street. When I turned that corner, there was a 10-yen takoyaki (dagashi shop), and when I went to 2-chome, I saw a sign saying “Bangaichi”. At that time, there were private houses in front of Shinjuku Station, and in the winter, the smoke from bonfires (burning fallen leaves, right?) smelled good. Memories are relatively real as long as they are remembered, and even now, such scenery and this view overlap and float in my mind. Still, it’s changed. It was really just dirt roads (unpaved roads), fields and open fields. In an era when not every home had a telephone, we imagined the past and ran through the present and the future. Such is my view today.
