◼️新年初荷はマングースの組み立て解説書「mongoose BICYCLE INSTRUCTION MANUAL」です。1977年の8月に印刷されたもので、まっさらの新品。
表紙を含めて全20ページの組み立て解説書で、当時のBMX PRODUCTS, INC がどれだけいーかげんにBMXを考えていたか（笑）ということがよくわかる内容になっています。これを手に入れてもここに書かれている内容を鵜呑みにして自転車を組み立てないように（笑）してください。まねすると色々変形しちゃったりしますから。とはいえ、歴史の中のマングースを鑑みるにはなかなかにスイートな印刷物ですね。なにせ”オフィシャル“ ですから、眺めているだけで少年の夢の世界。そのような気持ちに誘ってくれます。

The 20-page assembly manual, including the front cover, clearly shows how BMX PRODUCTS, INC thought about BMX at that time. Even if you get this, don’t build your bike exactly as described here. Because if you imitate it, it will transform in various ways. That said, it’s a pretty sweet print to look at the mongoose in history. After all, it’s “official”, so just looking at it invites you to a boy’s dream world.
