◼️新宿東口左方、しょんべん横丁 (現 – 思い出横丁) 。午前10時半。朝から呑んだくれる風情がいい。私はこれから店を開けるのでもちろんお酒なんぞに目をくれることもなく。その先にあるスタンド蕎麦屋さんで天玉うどんをいただいた。
ふと、気になって「おっちゃん、おれ、中学からここ来てんだけど、この店っていつからあったの？ 」と訊いたら「ちょうど50年やねー。えー、中学かー」。おっちゃんはすでに昔のおっちゃんではなく、私よりもだいぶ若い方なのであった。こちら側から見るおっちゃんは、昔も今もおっちゃんなので（自分のことは見えないからね）そこに起こる時間旅行的相違が不思議である。舌にピリッとくるほどに濃くて甘い味わいは、なんなく時を越えてわたしを10代へと帰らせるのだ。そんな きょうの眺め .
